Designed by Wyatt C. Hedrick, the Post Office was built in 1933 on the T&P Railroad reservation which includes 5 buildings, The T&P Passenger Station, The T&P Office Building, The T&P Freight Terminal, The U.S. Post Office, and The T&P Warehouse. While the other 4 buildings are richly adorned with Hedrick’s favorite Art Deco design, the Post Office is built in the Beaux Arts style as directed by the U.S. Government. Notable features are the one-piece Cordova Limestone columns and lions & longhorns adorning the top of the building. The lobby is one of the most architecturally magnificent indoor spaces in Fort Worth.
